Exercise management for persons with chronic disease and/or disability is now provided by a Biokineticist. Management is coordinated with other health care providers. Many people who have chronic diseases and disabilities enter a downward spiral. When cleared by a doctor, an exercise intervention programme should be designed and implemented by a qualified Biokineticist for such a person to resist this spiral and to optimize their functional capacity.

Conditions that are within a my scope of practice and may benefit from a programme are those individuals with cardiovascular diseases, pulmonary diseases (COPD), Metabolic diseases (Diabetes) and certain neurological disorders (stroke/spinal cord disabilities/muscular dystrophy/multiple sclerosis/Parkinson’s disease).
