MERRY FITNESS

Worried that your exercise routine will unravel in the holidays? Here are some creative stay-active solutions to keep you moving into 2013.

TRY SOMETHING NEW:

You don’t need a gym to keep fit and strong, try new activities that will keep you active and allow you to enjoy your free time.

Swimming, rollerblading or even rock climbing are excellent activities to keep you fit and make exercise seem more enjoyable and a little less like a burden.

DO IT WITH FRIENDS:

Walk with a friend. Now while you have the time use the opportunity to get a good workout while catching up on some gossip.

MAKE IT FUN:

This is a great time of the year to take your workout outdoors. Sign up for bootcamp, do yoga on the beach or even give horse riding a try. Whatever you do, make it enjoyable.

REDEFINE YOUR CONCEPT OF EXERCISE:

Don’t think that anything less than an hour in the gym doesn’t count as exercise. Make every moment count. Cleaning your house, doing some gardening and even Christmas shopping are all great ways of getting some exercise!

DO IT FOR A GOOD CAUSE:

“Look at exercise as a time of renewal instead of making workouts add to your stress level…whatever you’re doing, if it’s meaningful and mindful, your apt to do it” (Amanda Patel, yoga instructor).
